Early, while the water is calm
We go out in the morning, usually leaving between 8 and 10. The wind on the Bay builds through the day, and a still morning means a gentle sail and a calm moment when it matters.
Private charter
A private charter to scatter a loved one’s ashes on San Francisco Bay, with a licensed captain who has done this many times and will give you all the time you need.
A quiet morning on the Bay, at your own pace
We go out in the morning, usually leaving between 8 and 10. The wind on the Bay builds through the day, and a still morning means a gentle sail and a calm moment when it matters.
Choose a place on the Bay that means something, say a few words, play a song, or simply sit together for a while. The captain holds the boat steady and keeps to the background. Nobody is in a hurry.
California asks that ashes are scattered at least 500 yards from shore, and we take you to a place that meets the rule. Your funeral home can tell you what paperwork the state needs afterwards.
Close family fits on one of our smaller sailboats. A larger gathering, up to 20, sails on Yukon Jack. It is priced like any private charter, by the hour, with the captain included.
Call us to talk it through. We will suggest a boat and a morning, and take care of the rest.
