Privacy policy
What we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have kept it as short and plain as we can.

Who we are
Rendezvous Charters is part of Spinnaker Sailing San Francisco, based at Pier 40, South Beach Harbor. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Spinnaker Sailing San Francisco. It covers this website, www.rendezvouscharters.com.
When you request a quote
The quote form sends us what you enter: your name and email address, your phone number if you add one, the number of guests, the kind of event, and anything you write in the notes.
It reaches our staff inbox as an email, with your address set as the reply address so a coordinator can write straight back. We use it to answer you and to arrange your charter, and we keep it for as long as we need it for that and for our normal business records.
Keeping the form free of spam
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical details such as your IP address and how your browser behaves in order to tell a person from an automated program. Cloudflare explains how it handles that information in its privacy policy.
Two other checks run alongside it: a field kept off the screen that only an automated program would fill in, and a check that the form was open long enough for a person to have typed in it. Neither collects anything about you, and we do not keep a record of your IP address after your message is sent.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how people find and use this site. It stores small files called cookies in your browser and records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, what kind of device and browser you use, and your rough location. It does not tell us who you are.
We also note when a quote request is sent, and when someone taps our phone number or email address. Your name, email address, phone number and the text of your message are never sent to Google Analytics.
Google deletes the detailed analytics records after 14 months. Google may also collect information about your activity on this site and other sites over time, as it describes in its explanation of how it uses that data.
Apart from a login cookie in the staff-only area of the site, this site sets no cookies of its own.
Turning analytics off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for what a website should do with it, so this site does not currently respond to it. The options above do work.
Videos
The videos on this site are hosted by YouTube, but nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play — until then you are only looking at a still image served from our own site. When you do press play, the video is served from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address, and YouTube’s own policy applies from that point.
Booking and payment
Some pages link to SalesVu, the booking system Spinnaker Sailing uses, to check availability or buy tickets. That is a separate company with its own privacy policy, and anything you enter there — including card details — goes to them, not to us. No payment is ever taken on this website.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web host keeps standard logs of the requests the site receives, including IP addresses, the pages asked for and browser details. They are used to keep the site running and secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of this site for us — our web host, our email provider, Cloudflare, Google and SalesVu — and only so they can do that work. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email or call us using the details below. We will need to confirm it is really you before we act, and we will not treat you any differently for asking. California residents have these rights under California law.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and quote requests travel to our inbox over an encrypted connection as well. No way of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care of what you send us.
Other websites
Links to other sites — including spinnaker-sailing.com, timesharesailing.com and our social media pages — take you somewhere this policy does not cover. Those sites have their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
